What are E numbers / ingredient codes?
E numbers are standardised codes for approved additives, shown on your e-label if you choose.
An E number is a standardised code for an approved food or drink additive. Some winemaking ingredients have one — for example, Malic acid is E 296.
On your e-labels you can choose whether or not to show these codes alongside the ingredient names. It’s a brand-level setting: turn Display ingredient E numbers on or off in your brand’s settings.
